Contribution to the re-establishment

of a democratic New China

A Summary of the FDC activities in 2005

In 2005 the FDC team made concerted efforts with determination and persistence and did a considerable work which can be summarized as follows:

January 2

FDC made an announcement, condemning the Chinese regime for its arbitrary arrest of Mr. Yang Tianshui and Shi Tao, who were accused of attempting to overthrow the government and betraying state secrets respectively. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been up to his old mean tricks by fabricating offences to repress dissidents.

January 17

FDC made a statement entitled „For the people instead of for the government position – Remembrance of Mr. Zhao Ziyang through all eternities”, in order to mourn for the former CCP General Secretary Mr. Zhao, who sacrificed himself for the sake of the student demonstrators. FDC urged the Chinese government to re-evaluate Mr. Zhao’s merit, to re-assess the June 4th Movement, to punish the murders of the Peking massacre, to release all political prisoners, to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, to start up political reforms and to lift restrictions on establishment of parties and media organs.

January 20

FDC Canadian subsection and other organisations of local communities held a ceremony in front of the Chinese General Consulate in Toronto to commemorate Mr. Zhao Ziyang and pay their honour for his brave act of refusing to give orders for suppressing the students and citizens which led to his fall from office. FDC Canadian subsection urged the Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Martin who was on his visit in China to take the opportunity to demand the Chinese government to improve its human rights situation.

January 29

On the great gathering in Washington for commemorating Ziyang and saying farewell to the CCP, FDC made a statement, declaring that only in a democratic new China could Mr. Zhao Ziyang and the June 4th Event be justly appraised and the murders be punished.

January 30

Over 200 people from different Chinese associations in Germany got together in Fürth nearby Nürnberg and organized a meeting for “playing the New Year in and looking forward to the reunification”. In order to expose the human rights abuses of CCP and its betrayal of national interests and let the Chinese in Germany to recognize its evil nature, FDC, Falun Gong practitioners and friends from German societies distributed to the participants publicities, such as the special Edition of “Nine Commentaries of the Communist Party”, the Epoch Times, the European Chinese Post and FDC notifications. The action achieved a positive effect.
