The Beijing masscre of 1989 put back the clock of the Chinese political developement and China lost a good chance for political transformation. The dictatorial government carried out a purge of pro-democracy activists inside and outside of the Party. Some were arrested and put into Jail, some were forced into exile. The Federation for a Democratic China was founded by exiled students and scholars in Paris in 1989. |
